Avocado Crete Kona Sharwil Chania, producer prices, Avocado Kona Sharwil. A combination of Mexican and Guatemalan saplings made this hybrid from Australia. It was developed commercially in Hawaii. It has a well-centered stem. The shape of the fruits is oval \/ pear. Very easy to say when it is soft and ready to use. At South Coast Field Station, Orange County, Ca. old fruits can remain on the tree until the new crop is ready to start picking. The fruits are well stored. Very good taste, smooth and buttery with a lot of flavor. The fruits are dark green with a well-centered stem. Nice fruits often look shiny and immature when ripe and ready to be harvested. Most of the varieties grown in California belong to the group “Guatemala” or “Mexican” (or a hybrid of both) while Florida grows mostly in “West India”.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Greek \/ Cretan Avocado Variety KonaSharwil. Avocados are known as nutrient boosters because they allow the body to absorb more fat-soluble nutrients from the foods eaten with them. Avocados also provide the same many essential nutrients as fiber, potassium, vitamin E, B vitamins and folic acid and contain more protein than any other fruit. They are known to be high in fat and are actually only secondary to olives in oil content between fruits, but avocado oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, which is relatively healthy and can actually help reduce blood cholesterol levels. Avocados come in a variety of colors, some of which are pictured here.
