Most of the varieties grown in California belong to the group “Guatemala” or “Mexican” (or a hybrid of both) while Florida grows mostly in “West India”. Rich in monounsaturated fats, avocado has a smooth and creamy texture. It is much higher in fat than most other fruits. Avocados have a unique nutritional profile.
